This blog has been produced as part of a PhD research project exploring whether the changes made by volunteering organisations working in the global South to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic, have transformed approaches to, and understandings of volunteering and development. It focuses on research ethics and provides an introduction to the key principles and how ethics should be applied in formal research but also in less formal data collection exercises. It outlines the benefits of embedding ethics principles into evidence gathering and offers some useful resources for practitioners.
