Experiential learning, popularised by Kolb and Fry (1975) is a method of educating through first-hand experience, allowing students to acquire skills outside of the traditional academic setting. Experiential learning can include internships, studies overseas, field trips, field research and service-learning projects. We want to explore what experiential learning looks like across Arts Design Social Science (ADSS) and share this in a way which could encourage new partnerships and collaborations.

This pilot springboard session event for ADSS was the first in a series of refreshing and inspiring events drilling into aspects of Northumbria's new Education Strategy exploring how we might showcase, develop, and implement innovative new forms of experiential learning of value to our students, the academy, and our partners. The hope is that this event will showcase case studies which could serve as exemplars to other faculties across Northumbria University.

This booklet provides information on the event and its outcomes.
